Introduction & Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Microsoft Purview Security Engineer with a strong background in information security and data protection. The ideal candidate will possess at least 6 years of experience in related roles and have hands-on expertise with Microsoft Purview and Microsoft 365 security tools, including Microsoft Entra ID. This position requires a proactive approach to data security, compliance, and incident response, while also demonstrating excellent collaboration and communication skills within a multidisciplinary environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Implement and manage Microsoft Purview solutions for data discovery, classification, labeling, and loss prevention.
- Deploy and configure Microsoft Entra ID for authentication and authorization services.
- Ensure data security and compliance with internal policies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents and technical problems related to Microsoft Purview.
- Monitor system health and alerts to identify potential security issues.
- Create and maintain documentation and user guides for security processes.
- Stay current with Purview updates and industry best practices.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents, such as data leakage or unauthorized access.
- Collaborate with IT, legal, compliance, and business teams to align security controls.
- Provide training and guidance on data protection best practices.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 6+ years of experience in information security, data protection, or related roles.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview and Microsoft 365 security tools.
- Strong knowledge of data classification and loss prevention technologies.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR).
- Experience with incident response and security operations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Nice to Have
- Microsoft certifications (e.g., SC-400, SC-300, MS-500).
- Experience with cloud security (e.g., Azure).
- Knowledge of scripting or automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
- Experience in a multinational or highly regulated environment.
