Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain COBOL programs (both online and batch, using structured, goto-less programming).

• Manage and execute jobs using JCL job scheduling.

• Work with Easytrieve and the ASF output system to generate reports and outputs.

• Handle file management using VSAM and GDG file systems.

• Conduct unit and integration testing, ensuring accuracy and performance.

• Use IBM Debug Tool and Dumpmaster for troubleshooting and diagnostics.

• Collaborate with teams via Attachmate Extra! emulator and Jira.

• Create and maintain technical and functional design documentation.

• Operate within Agile or Waterfall methodologies depending on the project.

Preferred Experience (Nice to Have):

• Experience with IMS DBMS (PCB, PSB, DL/1) – highly valued but not mandatory.

• Familiarity with DevOps environments and deployment automation.

• Background in sectors such as banking, government, or logistics where mainframe systems remain critical.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a COBOL Developer, ideally in enterprise-level environments.

• Solid knowledge of JCL, VSAM, Easytrieve, and debugging tools.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in distributed teams.

• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and documentation practices.

• Fluent in English with effective communication skills.
