IT Architect/Engineer (Cloudera to Snowflake)

Start: ASAP (3-6months contract with possible extension)
Location: Stockholm ( 3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

Role Overview

This role focuses on post cutover support following the migration from Cloudera to Snowflake. The primary responsibility is to support business and technical users in converting existing PySpark and Spark code/scripts into Snowflake compatible solutions. The role acts as a key technical expert and point of contact throughout the migration stabilization phase.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the main technical support resource for the Cloudera to Snowflake migration.

• Support business users and development teams post cut over to Snowflake.

• Analyze, refactor, and convert PySpark and Spark code/scripts into Snowflake compatible SQL and Snowflake native solutions.

• Troubleshoot migration related issues and optimize converted workloads for performance and cost efficiency in Snowflake.

• Provide guidance and best practices for Snowflake development patterns.

• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure continuity and data quality after migration.

• Document conversion approaches, known issues, and recommended standards.
  

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake (SQL, architecture, performance considerations).

• Solid background in Cloudera, Spark, and PySpark.

• Proven experience converting Spark/PySpark workloads to Snowflake.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in data platform migrations.

• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  

Nice to Have

• Experience with large-scale data platform migrations.

• Knowledge of Snowflake best practices for cost optimization and performance tuning.

• Experience working in post-cutover or hypercare phases of migration projects.
