As an IDP Architect, you will play a key role in shaping and driving the architecture of the Integrated Development Platform (IDP). This role focuses on understanding business needs, translating them into scalable solutions, and ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, DevOps practices, and software development lifecycle standards.
- Understand business use cases and translate them into scalable architectural solutions.
- Evaluate and challenge non-sustainable or inefficient business requirements.
- Ensure alignment of IDP solutions with enterprise architecture standards.
- Define and drive functional and technical architecture for IDP initiatives.
- Lead design discussions and provide architectural guidance to development teams.
- Work with tools such as IBM ELM suite (DOORS Next, EWM, ETM, GC) for lifecycle management.
- Leverage Backstage for developer platform integration and standardization.
- Partner with the IDP Product Owner to prioritize use cases and roadmap.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, DevOps, and data governance teams.
- Maintain governance standards for architecture, data, and development processes.
- Support data governance initiatives using tools like Collibra.
- Strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) with focus on DevOps and CI/CD architecture.
- Experience in enterprise architecture and scalable system design.
- Expertise in IDP frameworks and developer platforms (e.g., Backstage).
- Knowledge of IBM ELM tools and lifecycle collaboration (OSLC).
- Ability to design and integrate RESTful APIs.
- Proficiency in Python for automation and scripting.
- Understanding of data governance practices (Collibra).
- Experience in documenting architecture and functional flows.
- Exposure to project management and delivery tracking.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and drive architectural decisions.
Experience: 10+ years in software development and architecture roles. Strong exposure to enterprise-level DevOps and CI/CD ecosystems. Proven ability to connect business requirements with technical solutions.
