We are seeking an experienced Delivery Manager to lead complex, business-critical technology change initiatives within the Investment Banking Back Office domain, covering areas such as trade processing, settlements, reconciliations, collateral, and regulatory reporting.
This role requires a strong blend of delivery leadership, back office domain expertise, and governance discipline, operating in a highly regulated, production-critical environment. The successful candidate will take full accountability for end-to-end delivery, ensuring change is executed in a controlled, transparent, and predictable manner.
The role:
• Lead end-to-end delivery of technology change initiatives across investment banking back office systems, including trade lifecycle, settlements, reconciliations, collateral, and regulatory reporting.
• Take full ownership of delivery outcomes, ensuring alignment to agreed scope, timelines, budget, and quality standards.
• Develop and maintain detailed delivery plans, including milestones, dependencies, risks, and critical paths.
• Act as the central point of accountability across technology, operations, business stakeholders, and third-party vendors.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including development, QA, operations, and business change resources.
• Drive requirements definition and solution design in collaboration with stakeholders and technical teams.
• Oversee end-to-end testing phases, ensuring appropriate planning, coordination, and execution across all test cycles.
• Establish and manage robust governance structures, including working groups, project boards, and steering committees.
• Produce clear and structured status reporting, ensuring transparency of progress, risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Proactively manage RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies), ensuring timely escalation and resolution.
• Ensure adherence to delivery governance, change control processes, and regulatory expectations.
• Operate effectively in a production-critical environment, balancing delivery pace with risk, control, and stability.
• Drive continuous improvement in delivery practices, tooling usage, and governance standards.
Key Skills and Experience:
To succeed in this role you will need:
• Proven track record as a Delivery Manager / Project Manager within investment banking back office or post-trade technology environments.
• Strong experience across the trade lifecycle, including settlements, reconciliations, collateral management, and/or regulatory reporting.
• Demonstrable end-to-end delivery experience, from initiation through to implementation and post-production stabilisation.
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams across technology, operations, and vendors.
• Strong governance experience, including running steering committees, project boards, and working groups.
• Hands-on ownership of delivery artefacts including delivery plans, RAID logs, dependency maps, and status reporting.
• Experience operating within regulated, control-driven environments with a strong focus on risk management and auditability.
• Proficiency in Jira, including backlog management, sprint planning, dependency tracking, and reporting.
• Strong working knowledge of Confluence for documentation, governance, and stakeholder communication.
• Solid understanding of the full IT delivery lifecycle (requirements, design, build, test, implementation, support).
• Ability to translate business and operational requirements into structured delivery plans for technology teams.
• Experience managing complex integration programmes across multiple systems and platforms.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage confidently at senior levels across business and IT.
Desirable:
• Experience delivering regulatory change (e.g. EMIR, MiFID, SFTR) or working on core settlement platforms.
• Exposure to Agile, hybrid, or scaled delivery models within enterprise banking environments.
• Experience with vendor-led implementations or package-based solutions.
• Background in transformation or platform migration programmes.
• Technical awareness across middleware, data flows, or batch processing within back office systems.
• Experience managing budgets and financial tracking across programmes.
