Database Administrator

Emagine is seeking a Database Administrator to join a collaborative and fast-paced transformation project environment in Lisbon. This role is ideal for an experienced database professional with a strong background in Oracle technologies, MySQL administration, and enterprise database operations, looking to contribute at a senior level within business-critical infrastructure and data platform environments.

You will play a key role in the administration, optimization, and support of enterprise database environments, ensuring performance, availability, security, and operational excellence. Acting as a Database Administrator, you will work closely with infrastructure, application, and project teams to support ongoing operations, deliver database-related initiatives, and maintain resilient and secure database platforms.

Your Main Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized technical support in Database Administration services, primarily Oracle, MySQL, and Exadata environments

• Manage, monitor, and optimize database performance, availability, and reliability across enterprise platforms

• Support and contribute to the implementation of projects involving database technologies and infrastructure enhancements

• Monitor and resolve day-to-day database issues, ensuring stable and efficient operations

• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and support teams whose services depend on database platforms

• Participate in the implementation of database best practices, operational procedures, and process improvements

• Develop and maintain technical documentation related to database administration and project activities

• Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices for database administration services

• Support database architecture, deployment, and operational activities across multiple database technologies

• Communicate effectively with internal teams and stakeholders to support ongoing operations and project delivery

You Bring:

• Proven experience administering Oracle Database environments across multiple versions

• Strong knowledge of MySQL database administration

• Solid experience with Oracle RAC and Oracle Data Guard

• Knowledge of Oracle Exadata environments

• Experience supporting production database environments and operational activities

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills within complex database ecosystems

• Ability to work across both operational support and project-based initiatives

• Experience producing and maintaining technical documentation

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Nice to Have:

• Experience managing databases within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)

• Exposure to database modernization, migration, or transformation projects

• Experience working within enterprise-scale infrastructure environments

• Familiarity with database performance tuning and capacity planning

• Previous experience working in international and complex enterprise environments

Location & Eligibility:

• Candidates must be based in Portugal

• Hybrid role based in Lisbon (2 days per week onsite)
