Data Engineer/Python

emagine is looking for a Senior Data Engineer for our client to support initiatives related to Card Chargeback processing, specifically within the IRIS policy framework and associated batch variables. The assignment focuses on strengthening data foundations used to represent and challenge disputes raised by card schemes.

Start: ASAP (or within a month)

Duration: 6 months (extension possible)

Location: Stockholm, min 3 days/week at the office

The consultant will work closely with payments, risk, and operations stakeholders to ensure that chargeback-related data is reliable, traceable, and suitable for performance analysis and dispute evidence.

About the assignment

The consultant will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and analytical structures related to the Card Chargeback service, including but not limited to:

• Collecting, structuring, and evidencing data required to represent and challenge chargeback disputes from card schemes

• Developing and maintaining data pipelines connected to the Card Chargeback service

• Processing event data generated by the chargeback service

• Integrating and normalizing PSP data sourced from external PSP portals

• Supporting Card Chargeback performance tracking and reporting

• Ensuring data quality, consistency, and auditability across batch and event-driven processes

Your profile:

Must-have skills:

• Strong experience in Python and SQL

• Proven background in Data Engineering, including pipeline development

• Experience working with Airflow or similar orchestration tools

Nice-to-have experience:

• Experience within Banking, Payments, or Financial Services

• Familiarity with card schemes and chargeback processes
