Data Engineer

Project Details:

• Workload: Full-time

• Contract: B2B, 6-12 months + possible extensions

• Working model: Hybrid, at least 1 day per week from the Gdansk office, the rest remotely

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join a data-focused project built around Microsoft Azure technologies. This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys working with data pipelines, cloud data platforms, SQL, and business stakeholders.

The project focuses on building, maintaining, and improving end-to-end data pipelines, including data ingestion, transformation, and delivery.

The role is based around the Gdańsk office, with office presence required when needed, especially during stakeholder visits, workshops, team integrations, or important project phases requiring face-to-face collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain end-to-end data pipelines, including ingestion, transformation, and delivery.

• Implement enhancements to improve the functionality and performance of supported data solutions.

• Work closely with internal business stakeholders to gather requirements, align expectations, and support delivery.

• Lead and coordinate UAT and PAT activities together with business stakeholders.

• Share and document knowledge for the team and future project members.

• Provide technical feedback and suggest improvements to operational practices.

• Work with Git, branching strategies, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes.

• Support a collaborative, self-managing team environment.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in Data Engineering or a similar role.

• Hands-on knowledge of Azure data services and technologies, such as Databricks, Data Lake, Synapse, Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, or Azure Data Explorer.

• Good understanding of Microsoft Azure as a platform.

• Experience with analytics, databases, and data systems.

• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases.

• Python knowledge — advanced proficiency is not required.

• Familiarity with data modelling techniques and data pipeline technologies.

• Experience with Git and branching strategies.

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline development and deployments.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with streaming data pipelines, messaging queues, and serverless components.

• Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform.

• Experience with ServiceNow.

• Experience with Collibra / Data Navigator.
