Cybersecurity Method Engineer
Assignment Overview
As a Cybersecurity Method Developer, you will work cross‑functionally in close collaboration with method users (such as testers and developers) as well as tool developers. The role requires a strong technical foundation, deep cybersecurity knowledge, and the ability to define, harmonize, and implement methods across the organization.

• University degree in a relevant technical field

Key Responsibilities
Method Definition & Development
• Define cybersecurity methods by collecting experience or conducting deep‑dive analyses of user needs.
• Develop methods by engaging in discussions with stakeholders and documenting the results clearly and systematically.
• Identify the need for tools and, when necessary, support tool development by defining functional specifications.
Harmonization & Alignment
• Drive harmonization across engineering, quality, and compliance functions.
• Ensure consistent and aligned application of cybersecurity methods across the organization.
Implementation, Training & Support
• Implement methods through teaching, coaching, and effectively "selling" the methods within the organization.
• Maintain, challenge, and continuously improve existing methods and frameworks.
Required Competence and Experience
Technical Background
• Strong background in software development, preferably in embedded systems, or equivalent technical experience.
Extensive Automotive Cybersecurity Expertise
• ISO/SAE 21434 – Road Vehicles Cybersecurity Engineering
• UN-ECE R155 – Cybersecurity Management Systems (CSMS)
• Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA)
• Cybersecurity concept development and requirements engineering
• Experience integrating cybersecurity across the full automotive lifecycle:
○ Development
○ Production
○ Post‑production
Understanding of Risk-Based Management Systems
• ISO 27001 (Information Security Management Systems)
• ISO 9001 (Quality Management Systems)
Considered Strong Advantages
• UN-ECE R156 (Software Update Management Systems)
• ISO 26262 (Functional Safety) and its interface with cybersecurity
• Experience with supplier cybersecurity interfaces (e.g., CS-DIA)
• Experience supporting type‑approval processes
• Participation in audits or certification assessments
