We are looking for a Business Risk Manager with a strong legal and regulatory background to support AI, digital experience, and technology-driven initiatives across the Client Journeys. This role plays a key part in the Journey Leadership Team and is responsible, together with leaders, for identifying, assessing, and appropriately managing non-financial risks. With a focus on embedding risk, compliance, and governance into innovative solutions, the Business Risk Manager ensures that AI and digital development is delivered in a controlled and compliant manner.
Main Responsibilities:
· Ensure effective risk management and support the Global Journey in balancing its risk-taking with the Group’s risk appetite.
· Embed risk and compliance into AI, digital, and technology initiatives.
· Support the Global Journey Owner in understanding the overall risk picture and foster a sound risk and compliance culture aligned with objectives.
· Secure an overview of policies, procedures, processes, capabilities, and associated risk data relating to the Global Journey.
· Collaborate with stakeholders across key tasks to integrate risk insights into decision-making and strategic planning.
· Ensure a strong linkage between risk, compliance, and audit activities, engaging with 2nd and 3rd Line of Defence where relevant.
· Implement risk management practices in day-to-day operations, including RCSAs, risk events, control reviews, issues, and actions.
· Deliver risk management information to track non-financial risk performance and ensure high-quality documentation across the Journey.
· Lead and facilitate risk assessment workshops and ensure follow-up on actions in line with risk appetite.
· Integrate risk considerations into strategic processes such as change risk assessments, product approvals, and third-party engagements.
· Provide support across risk events, RCSAs, and broader 1st and 2nd line of defence risk activities across AI, digital experience, technology, and business domains.
· Provide legal and compliance input into ongoing initiatives and projects, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
· Contribute to strengthening governance frameworks, ensuring consistency and quality across policies, procedures, work instructions, and SOPs.
· Support the development, maintenance, and quality assurance of risk and compliance documentation across the Global Journey.
Key Requirements:
· Strong legal background with the ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical and actionable guidance for the business.
· Experience working across both 1st and/or 2nd Line of Defence in a financial services or regulated environment.
· Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks, ideally including GDPR and/or MiFID.
· Exposure to AI, digital, or technology risk/compliance topics.
· Proven ability to support governance and control frameworks, including development of policies, procedures, and operational documentation.
· Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across business, technology, and control functions.

We have an urgent need for a Business Risk Manager consultant to cover for an employee currently on parental leave. This is a short-term, temporary assignment, with the expectation that the consultant will join us as soon as possible and continue through the end of November 2026. Ideally, we’d love for them to be physically present at HQ during this period.
We’re specifically seeking someone with a solid legal background who can provide support across a variety of risk events and RCSAs, as well as offer legal and compliance insights on ongoing projects.
The consultant will work on a broad range of 1st and 2nd line risk-related activities, touching on AI, digital experience, technology, and business domains. Experience with GDPR and/or MiFID would be especially valuable, as the consultant will also play a key role in strengthening our governance frameworks, developing work instructions, refining SOPs, and handling related documentation.
