Backend Engineer (TypeScript, Node and JS)
Our client is embarking on a major initiative to rebuild and modernize the foundational architecture for their entire order management flow. This work will serve as the backbone for future backend infrastructure efforts and is critical to the company’s long‑term technical roadmap.
We are therefore looking for two highly skilled and experienced backend consultants who can not only contribute hands‑on but also make strong architectural decisions from the ground up. The consultants will join a small, tightly collaborative team where technical ownership, communication, and problem‑solving abilities are essential.
Start: ASAP
Length: 6 months with possible extension
Location: Stockholm/hybrid
Role Responsibilities
Design and implement core backend services for a new order management foundation.
Architect systems from scratch with long-term scalability, resilience, and maintainability in mind.
Work closely with other engineers in a small, collaborative environment.
Drive data modeling and technical decision‑making for complex backend workflows.
Contribute to laying the groundwork for future backend infrastructure initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience
Strong professional experience as a backend engineer working with distributed systems or complex backend domains.
Expertise in TypeScript and Node.js (or deep JavaScript + proven ability to quickly adopt TS/Node).
Strong AWS knowledge, especially in environments without a dedicated infrastructure team abstracting cloud complexity.
Experience architecting systems from scratch, ideally with components similar to order management workflows.
Data modeling experience in domains with transactional or workflow-heavy logic.
Meritorious (Nice-to-Have)
Direct experience working on order management systems or closely related domains (e‑commerce, retail, fulfillment, inventory, logistics, etc.).
Prior experience in teams building backend platforms or infrastructure services.
