Our client is a Swedish technology company that provides self-serve advertising platforms for publishers. Their solutions allow advertisers of all sizes to buy, manage, and optimise digital ad campaigns directly, without intermediaries. By automating the ad sales process, the company helps publishers increase efficiency and revenue, while offering advertisers greater transparency and control. The company works with global clients such as Disney, TripAdvisor, and Bloomberg.

The company is transitioning its environment from BigQuery to AWS to simplify operations, ensure SOC 1 compliance, and build a scalable, production-ready data platform that serves as a single, governed source of truth.

Key elements of the project:

  • AWS Data Lakehouse Architecture: Design and deliver an end-to-end architecture using AWS DMS, Glue, S3, Redshift, and Lake Formation, providing a unified, governed data foundation.

  • SOC 1 Compliance by Design: Map SOC 1 controls to technical safeguards including encryption, access policies, audit logging, and CI/CD traceability to ensure regulatory adherence.

  • Scalable Ingestion & Schema Harmonisation: Consolidate ~50 MySQL RDS instances into a central lakehouse, implementing parallel ingestion, schema unification, and Redshift partitioning strategies.

  • Infrastructure Readiness: Define and standardise Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/CloudFormation) for reproducible, compliant deployments integrated with DevOps pipelines.

  • Documentation & Governance: Produce comprehensive architecture runbooks, templates, and QA/compliance evidence to support internal and client audits.

  • Future-readiness: Design the architecture to support downstream AI/ML and analytics workloads (e.g. integration with QuickSight and Power BI).

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8–10 years in data platform design, including 3+ years building AWS-native data solutions (Redshift, Glue, Lake Formation, IAM).

  • Proven experience delivering SOC 1/SOC 2 or ISO 27001 compliant data architectures.

  • Hands-on experience scaling ingestion across multiple MySQL RDS sources using AWS DMS.

  • Deep understanding of data governance, security controls, and compliance frameworks.

  • Expertise with Terraform or CloudFormation for IaC.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD integration for data pipelines (e.g. CodePipeline, GitHub Actions).

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Data Analytics – Specialty preferred.

  • Strong focus on practical implementation and operational readiness, not just architectural design.

This position is remote-friendly, BYOD, and involves collaboration with a cross-functional team of engineers, data architects, and compliance specialists.
