Advanced NoSQL Expertise - Data Engineer

Introduction & Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer with advanced expertise in NoSQL databases, specifically in DynamoDB and DocumentDB, to support large-scale applications. The ideal candidate will possess a profound understanding of document stores, data modeling, and performance optimization strategies that ensure efficient data retrieval. Key skills and qualifications must include advanced knowledge of indexing, partitioning strategies, and security compliance.

Main Responsibilities:

The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing NoSQL data solutions.

• Design and implement efficient partitioning strategies to optimize performance.

• Create flexible document schemas for large-scale collections.

• Implement item or collection level role-based access control (RBAC).

• Conduct performance tuning and optimization across data queries.

• Establish secure access patterns in compliance with security controls.

• Perform query tuning and develop indexing strategies for scalability.

Key Requirements:

• Deep understanding of DynamoDB and/or DocumentDB.

• Experience in designing partitioning strategies to avoid hot partitions.

• Proficient in indexing and using composite keys for sorting and querying.

• Skills in data modeling for complex searching and large document collections.

• Experience with implementing RBAC at item or collection levels.

• Ability to handle sorting across partitions without performance degradation.

• Familiarity with query tuning and indexing for performance optimization.

• Knowledge of secure access patterns and compliance controls.

This role is primarily remote and is expected to be of long duration. The focus is on projects within the tech sector, requiring proactive engagement and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
