You will be joining Egnyte's Infrastructure Team, responsible for building and maintaining the core backend services that power the entire platform - spanning data management, real-time communication and synchronization, content processing, and internal tooling. As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of experienced engineers, driving technical excellence, scalability, and reliable delivery of business-critical systems.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
• Direct team management.
- Setting team members for success, employee evaluation and growth plans.
- Proving business context to the team.
- Setting up team-specific processes, monitoring and improving productivity.
- Being hands-on and lead from the front; provide technical inputs and direction to the group as necessary
- Ensuring high quality operation of Egnyte’s platform. Driving a strong culture of continuous learning.
• Developing a high-scale product, on time delivery.
- Technical dept ownership, ensuring the product can scale and the technology is aligned with world-class standards.
- Follow best practices to inject innovation into Egnyte’s architecture and culture.
• Being a member of the Egnyte leadership team.
- An active member of the leadership team at Egnyte, driving global initiatives, promoting and strengthening Egnyte culture, improving our standards, influencing the work environment.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, such as application teams, DevOps and SRE to ensure infrastructure supports roadmap and operational needs as necessary.
- Direct reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering.
- Hybrid work culture: work from the office at least 3 days a week.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
• Proven experience in leading distributed teams.
• Experience in building and operating large-scale, mission-critical cloud infrastructure for SaaS products.
• Experience with multi-tenant software architecture.
• Familiarity with AI/ML integration in software products — including working with LLMs, AI-powered features, or data pipelines that support intelligent services.
• Hands-on: understand and be able to contribute to system designs.
• Past background in Java (mandatory).
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms (GCP, Azure or AWS) and infrastructure as code concepts.
• Solid communication skills, including strong written and spoken English.
