Role Description
Senior Product Managers set the vision and guide multidisciplinary teams toward a common goal: shipping high quality products and creating customer value. As advocates for both our users and our business, the best product managers balance a range of functional perspectives and empower their teams to do great, high impact work.
As a Senior Product Manager on the Payments Platform team, you will lead the strategy and roadmap for the systems that power how Dropbox accepts, processes, and optimizes payments. This newly formed team has a focused mandate to strengthen our payments stack—driving improvements in transaction success, reducing involuntary churn, and supporting global scale and flexibility.
In this role, you’ll identify opportunities to modernize our payments infrastructure - introducing new payment methods, refining retry and routing logic, and evaluating third-party integrations to reduce cost and improve performance. You’ll partner closely with finance, engineering, and product leaders to deliver measurable business outcomes while ensuring the stack is resilient, scalable, and future-ready.
This is a high-impact opportunity to shape a critical part of Dropbox’s revenue engine, influence company-wide platform decisions, and contribute to long-term growth across all lines of business.
Responsibilities
Shape the strategy and roadmap for Dropbox’s payments stack, focusing on improving authorization rates, reducing churn, and supporting new payment experiences.
Define and prioritize high-impact initiatives by synthesizing input from data, finance, engineering, client teams, and third-party vendors.
Collaborate cross-functionally to execute on roadmap goals—driving alignment, managing trade-offs, and clearly communicating decisions to senior stakeholders.
Evaluate and integrate third-party payment solutions (e.g., fraud tools, PSPs, network tokens) based on business value, cost, and implementation feasibility.
Partner with finance and analytics to monitor payments performance, define success metrics, and uncover insights that inform strategy and iteration.
Drive operational excellence by identifying and resolving friction points in the payment lifecycle—from checkout to chargebacks to reconciliation.
Foster a strong, inclusive team culture by supporting collaboration, trust, and continuous improvement across product, engineering, and partner teams.
Requirements
5+ years of product management experience, with a strong track record in platform or infrastructure domains—ideally in payments, billing, or monetization.
Strategic thinker with a bias for action—you can navigate ambiguity, make tradeoffs, and prioritize work that drives measurable business impact.
Experience working with cross-functional teams including engineering, analytics, finance, and vendor partners to deliver scalable solutions.
Comfortable digging into complex systems, with enough technical fluency to collaborate effectively on architecture, APIs, and integration points.
Strong analytical skills—you’re fluent in metrics, experimentation, and data interpretation to guide decisions and evaluate outcomes.
Skilled communicator and collaborator—you bring clarity to chaos, align stakeholders, and build trust across teams.
Growth mindset and customer obsession—you continuously seek to improve experiences, reduce friction, and unlock value for both users and the business.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working on payments, billing, or monetization systems—especially in subscription-based or SaaS businesses.
Familiarity with payment infrastructure components such as processors, gateways, fraud tools, and account updaters.
Prior experience evaluating and integrating third-party vendors in regulated or high-reliability environments.
Understanding of global payments challenges, including localization, compliance, and alternative payment methods.
Comfort working with complex financial systems and partnering with finance, legal, and risk teams to drive outcomes.
