As a Datacenter Engineer, you’ll be part of our core infrastructure team. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders and selected partners to support both operations and complex IT projects – particularly in the areas of Azure, network security, and resilient datacenter architecture.
What to expect from us
Installation & Maintenance – Installing, configuring, and maintaining servers, storage systems, network devices (routers, switches), and related hardware.
Monitoring & Troubleshooting – Continuous monitoring of system performance and critical infrastructure; rapid diagnosis and resolution of hardware/software issues to minimize downtime.
Infrastructure Management – Managing power distribution (UPS, generators), cooling systems, and physical security (access control, fire detection).
Network Management – Ensuring reliable network connectivity and implementing security measures such as firewalls and encryption.
Planning & Optimization – Supporting capacity planning, scalability, energy efficiency, and sustainability initiatives.
Documentation & Compliance – Maintaining documentation of configurations, processes, and disaster recovery plans; ensuring compliance with standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001).
Azure & Virtualization – Implementing and operating virtual and cloud platforms (Azure, OpenStack, Proxmox, Kubernetes).
Network Security – 2nd & 3rd level support for datacenter networks using FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, and FortiSASE.
Backup & Disaster Recovery – Supporting BCDR implementation, testing, and operational readiness.
Automation & Scripting – Using Ansible, Terraform, Bash, or Python for automation and configuration management.
Technical Troubleshooting – Performing fault analysis, identifying root causes, coordinating with vendors, and managing hardware replacements.
Documentation & Security Compliance – Updating infrastructure diagrams, network designs, security policies, and access control logs.
Cross-Functional Project Work – Coordinating multiple parallel workstreams in infrastructure, rollout, and modernization projects.
What defines you
Education & Experience – Bachelor or master’s in information technology; IT Diploma (e.g. IT specialist for system integration) or similar qualification; 5+ year’s experience in datacenter environments or enterprise infrastructure
Azure & Cloud Expertise – Familiarity with Azure networking and services (vNets, Gateways), plus experience with hybrid infrastructure design
Networking & Security – Solid knowledge in LAN/WAN architecture and Fortinet tools (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiSASE); experience with Cisco or HP Aruba is a plus
Backup & DR – Hands-on experience with backup solutions and disaster recovery strategies
Scripting & Automation – Terraform, Ansible, Bash, Python or PowerShell to automate tasks and streamline environments
Structured Thinking – Reliable, quality-focused workstyle with the ability to prioritize and multitask in project settings
Languages & Mobility – German min. B2; confident with English documentation and vendor coordination; driver's license is a plus
