Senior Database Engineer (with MongoDB)

We are looking for Senior Database Engineers with strong expertise in MongoDB to support a large-scale data migration project for a global leader in the financial services sector. This is a fully remote position within Poland, offering an exciting opportunity to work on enterprise-grade data systems and cross data center replication.

🧩 Project Scope:

You’ll be part of a team responsible for migrating databases from Cardinal Data Centers to a new hosting infrastructure, ensuring secure, optimized, and highly available database environments.

🔧 Key Responsibilities:

1. Architect and implement business requirements as database changes.
2. Evaluate and formulate DB changes in line with project needs.
3. Design and model databases with a focus on MongoDB best practices.
4. Perform capacity planning, workload assessment, and performance tuning.
5. Create and manage tables, indexes, stored procedures, and access control rules.
6. Execute and review DB changes as part of agile release cycles.
7. Conduct database performance testing, debugging, and monitoring.
8. Lead database incident resolution, recovery, and disaster recovery (DR) planning.
9. Implement database monitoring, auditing, and security patching.
10. Collaborate closely with application teams for workload optimization and application support.

✅ Required Experience:

1. Proven experience as a Senior Database Engineer with MongoDB (other DB tech is a plus).
2. Hands-on experience in cross data center replication and large-scale data migrations.
3. Strong capabilities in DB modeling, design, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
4. Experience with access management, data cleansing, archiving, and security remediation.
5. Solid understanding of release management and incident response in high-availability environments.
6. Fluency in English and ability to work in distributed teams.
