As a Java Backend Developer, you’ll design and build robust backend systems, contribute to scalable microservices architecture, and ensure high performance. For Senior and Lead roles, you will take on technical leadership responsibilities, including mentoring team members and driving technical decisions.

Java Backend Developer (Mid-Level, Senior, and Lead Roles Available)

Location: Remote or Hybrid (Warsaw, Poland)

Employment Type: B2B Contract

Client: Multinational Company in the Financial Sector

Key Responsibilities:

Mid-Level:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java.
• Work on Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Data) to build scalable microservices.
• Develop and optimize RESTful APIs and ensure seamless integration with frontend systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to maintain system reliability.
• Contribute to the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).

Senior:

• Lead the design and implementation of complex backend services with a focus on scalability and performance.
• Develop solutions using Java, Spring, Kafka, and relational or NoSQL databases.
• Drive architectural decisions and implement best practices for coding and testing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve advanced technical issues.
• Mentor and guide mid-level developers.

Lead:

• Provide technical leadership and oversee backend development activities.
• Define and enforce development standards, coding practices, and architectural guidelines.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business needs.
• Lead and mentor teams across multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and evaluate their applicability to the organization.

Skills & Qualifications:

Essential Skills:

• Mid-Level:
• 3-6 years of backend development experience with Java.
• Experience with Spring Framework, RESTful APIs, and SQL databases.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerization tools like Docker.
• Basic understanding of microservices architecture.

• Senior:
• 7+ years of backend development experience.
• Expertise in Java, Spring, and Kafka or JMS.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, performance optimization, and NoSQL databases.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

• Lead:
• 10+ years of backend development experience with 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Proven expertise in microservices architecture, distributed systems, and cloud technologies.
• Ability to drive technical decisions and lead large-scale projects.
• Strong experience with event-driven architectures and security best practices.

Nice-to-Have Skills (All Levels):

• Experience in the financial sector or with FinTech applications.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and container orchestration tools.
• Knowledge of advanced security practices for backend systems.

Soft Skills:
