Senior Data Engineer (Google Cloud Platform)

For our client we are looking for a Senior Data Engineer (Google Cloud Platform) for a long-term project focused on building a modern, cloud-native real-time data platform for a client operating in the digital media and entertainment sector.

This initiative is part of a broader transformation of the client's data landscape toward scalable, cloud-based, real-time architecture. The role is well suited to someone who is comfortable combining software engineering, infrastructure work, and production support in a fast-moving environment.

Scope of the role

The workload is split across three key areas:

• 40% development - delivering new features and expanding platform capabilities

• 35% DevOps / infrastructure - supporting and evolving the cloud environment

• 25% maintenance and support - ensuring platform stability and handling operational needs

Please note that this role also requires availability for a rotational on-call schedule. Details regarding additional compensation for on-call responsibilities will be discussed during the recruitment process.

Must-have skills and experience

• Strong commercial experience with Python

• Hands-on knowledge of Google Cloud Platform, especially:

  • GCE

  • GKE

  • Pub/Sub

  • BigQuery

  • Dataflow

  • Cloud Functions

• Practical experience with Terraform

• Good understanding of event-driven architectures

• Experience designing and building data pipelines

• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana and Prometheus

• Solid testing background, including Pytest and integration testing

• Strong SQL skills

• Experience with CI/CD processes and tools, especially Cloud Build and GitHub Actions
  

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Go and/or Java

• Experience with Databricks

• Familiarity with Dataform for BigQuery transformations

• Experience with Google App Engine
  

Language requirements

• English at B2+ level minimum

• Comfortable working in an international environmen

Offer

• Rate: 140-150 PLN/h

• Contract length: 12 months, with possible extension

• Work model: Remote

• Working hours: UK business hours, 9:00-17:00

• Project start: 06.07.2026
