Project & Product Manager

Position overview

We are looking for an experienced Project & Product Manager to support compliance and internal technology initiatives at a growing digital assets business.

In this role, you will work closely with engineering teams, business stakeholders, compliance functions, and senior leadership to drive product delivery, coordinate cross-functional initiatives across international offices, and translate complex regulatory and business requirements into actionable roadmaps and delivery plans.

Responsibilities

• Own product management for compliance and internal technology products, working closely with the engineering team.

• Define, prioritise, and maintain product backlogs; translate business needs into epics and feature requirements in JIRA.

• Partner with BA and engineering leads to refine requirements and drive delivery.

• Ensure compliance and regulatory requirements are correctly captured as product requirements.

• Coordinate cross-entity and cross-functional technology initiatives across Nomura offices in Tokyo, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Switzerland, London, and New York.

• Align requirements from different departments, regulatory bodies, and compliance teams into a coherent, executable plan.

• Build and maintain executive-level presentations and status reports for the Chief Administrative Officer and senior leadership.

• Act as the central coordination point between the product team and the broader firm on regulatory and compliance-driven technology programmes.

• Track and report on programme health; proactively surface risks, dependencies, and blockers to leadership.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of the financial services industry — capital markets, digital assets, or trading platforms strongly preferred.

• Direct experience with regulatory and compliance environments in finance (e.g., FCA, MAS, DFSA, FINMA, or equivalent).

• Proven track record in senior program or product management roles within a regulated financial institution or fintech.

• Exceptional communication skills in English — both written and verbal; confident presenting to C-suite executives and external stakeholders.

• Ability to operate across cultures and time zones; experience working with geographically distributed teams.

• Strong executive stakeholder management skills — able to translate between business, compliance, and technology without losing nuance.

• Comfortable working with JIRA at the epic/roadmap level; ability to structure and track complex cross-functional initiatives.

Nice to have

• Background in digital assets, cryptocurrency, or blockchain-related financial products.

• Experience within or working alongside a PMO (Project Management Office) at a global financial institution.

• Familiarity with AI-driven development tooling or modern software delivery practices.

• Based in the UK or with the right to work in the UK.
