We do this through a host of technologies designed to perform both automated and manual sourcing of threat intelligence, alongside advanced analytical features that enable business entities to conduct analysis and generate outputs in the form of alerts, reports, or data feeds.  

CYJAX is in a period of expansion of which the Development Team are at the core; we are looking for a Developer to join our Development Team and contribute to our growth. Your Responsibilities

As Backend Developer, you will work closely with other members of Development Team on our tech stack and projects. 

What you’ll be doing:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance backend applications using PHP.

• Build and optimize RESTful APIs and microservices to support application functionality. 

• Collaborate with other developers to implement and test features for web platforms and applications. 

• Work with applications deployed on AWS-based infrastructure. 

• Occasionally contribute to frontend development in our Next.js application. 

• Debug and troubleshoot issues across the codebase. 

• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions to improve code quality and share knowledge. 

• Continuously learn and apply new technologies and best practices. 

• Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows to ensure smooth operations. 

• Contribute to maintaining system security and compliance with ISO 27001 and best practices. 

What You Should Bring

We’re looking for a capable and experienced developer with the following qualifications: 

• 3+ years of experience in backend development, with strong proficiency in PHP. 

• Experience with PHP frameworks, preferably Laravel. 

• Solid understanding of software development principles and best practices. 

• Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to ask questions and seek guidance when needed. 

• Experience with relational databases (MySQL) and familiarity with NoSQL systems (e.g., Elasticsearch). 

• Good understanding of web technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript (React is a plus). 

• Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms is a plus. 

• Understanding of SaaS architecture, microservices, and distributed systems. 

• Ability to analyse complex issues and independently propose effective solutions. 

• Familiarity with the software development lifecycle, including version control, issue tracking, and CI/CD pipelines. 

• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset. 

• Curiosity and willingness to learn new tools and technologies. 

• Ability to effectively use AI tools to support development workflows. 

• Professional working proficiency in English.

Interview Process (conducted online via Microsoft Teams):

We aim to complete the process within 2 weeks. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and the position may be filled before the closing date if a suitable candidate is found.

1) Introductory Call

Learn about our company and culture, with an opportunity to ask questions. Introduce yourself.

2) Code Assessment

Candidates whose profiles closely match what we're looking for will be invited to complete a take-home coding exercise. The assessment takes approximately 2 hours and can be done at your convenience within the provided deadline.

3) Technical Interview

Candidates with strong assessment results will be invited to a video interview. This conversation will cover both technical and soft skills, and is also a chance to learn more about our team, culture, and how we work.
