Who we are looking for

Covantis is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Frontend) who loves (and is good at) solving hard yet exciting engineering problems and bringing new products and features to life. If you love being a part of the solution, actively contributing to discoveries, gaining deep understanding of customer needs, analysing intricate details of their business processes and empathising their pains, and ready to shape and implement solutions to those problems, this is a role for you.


What you will do

As a Senior Software Engineer at Covantis, you will work across multiple products in our portfolio (we currently have 5) to develop and improve features that directly address real-life problems in the supply chain operations. Your first assignment will likely be Covantis DocCreate – our newest product for automating and facilitating collaborative creation of documents in bulk and issuance of electronic documents.

• Work directly with a Product Manager and a Designer to understanding business cases and user needs and shape/design a solution together, consulting the rest of the team and Engineering Manager when necessary. We expect you to not only decide on how to implement things from the technical perspective, but brainstorm the PM or the Designer helping decide what the solution to the problem would even be.

• Collaborate with other developers to deliver complex solutions for automating or digitalising all sorts of processes in supply chain operations.

• Participate in technical design discussions. Produce technical documentation as needed in support of complex technical concepts, write ADRs for topics requiring complex decision making.

• Build web-application back-end and front-end using Node.js, Postgres, React, Jest/Vitest, Refine, various managed services in AWS etc.

• Contribute directly to your app’s infrastructure using Terraform.

• Deliver code to production using CI/CD and best DevOps practices.

• Be involved in all phases of software development life cycle: implementing new features or changes to existing features, writing tests, fixing bugs/defects, doing code reviews, deploying to production, responding to incidents etc.

• Occasionally help other teams working on other products if they happen to have a particularly challenging case or a tight deadline.


Hard skill we require

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering

• 2+ years of experience in developing web apps with React

• Strong experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and TypeScript.

• Familiar with current trends and best practices in front-end architecture, including performance, security and usability.

• Strong advocate for testing, experience with modern testing frameworks and best practices.

• Knowledge of front-end development tools such as pre-processors, task runners, bundlers, etc.

• Experience with CI/CD best practices to build, test and ship your code fast.

• Server-side JavaScript experience with technologies such as NodeJS.

• Experience with monitoring tools.
