AWS Cloud Engineer

Seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to manage and enhance our core AWS infrastructure, Kafka clusters, and Kubernetes (EKS) environments. You will ensure system reliability, performance, and security, utilizing IaC (Terraform), CI/CD automation, and implementing key security features like mTLS and Istio authorization.

Main responsibilities:

• Manage core AWS services (EC2, EKS, S3, VPC, KMS) and network configurations.
• Implement and manage highly available Kafka clusters with a focus on performance and mTLS security.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
• Manage containerized workloads using Kubernetes (EKS) and implement Istio service mesh.
• Configure and manage CI/CD pipelines (ArgoCD/Jenkins) and monitoring solutions (CloudWatch/Datadog).
• Drive security initiatives, including KMS management, compliance, Kafka mTLS enforcement, and Istio External Authorization.

Key requirements:

• Proven hands-on experience with AWS, Kafka cluster management (incl. security), and Kubernetes (EKS).
• Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and CI/CD practices.
• Deep understanding of cloud security principles and implementation (mTLS, KMS, Istio, VPC security).
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, Datadog).

Skills & Experience:

• Core AWS Services: EKS, VPC, S3, KMS, CloudWatch.
• Kafka: Cluster Management, Performance, Security (TLS/mTLS).
• Containerization: Kubernetes (EKS), Docker.
• IaC: Terraform.
• Service Mesh: Istio (including External Authorization).
• CI/CD: ArgoCD, Jenkins.
• Monitoring: CloudWatch, Datadog.
• Security: AWS Security Best Practices, mTLS, KMS.
