Data Engineer with GCP

Senior Data Engineer (GCP/BigQuery Specialist)

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer with a minimum of 3 years of commercial experience primarily focused on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), BigQuery, Python, and SQL.

You will be joining our client—an innovative Insurtech company that runs a highly successful online platform for purchasing and comparing insurance. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on their data architecture.

Key Technology & Expertise:

• Cloud Focus (3+ years required): Expert proficiency in GCP for building and managing data infrastructure, with a very strong emphasis on BigQuery.

• Core Languages (3+ years required): Strong command of Python (including the Pandas library) and advanced SQL.

• Orchestration & ETL/ELT: Experience with Airflow (running on Kubernetes / K8s), dbt, and Airbyte for modern data transformation processes.

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Practical experience with Terraform.

• Data Modeling: Proven expertise in data modeling and designing robust ETL/ELT pipelines, including data migration projects.

• Monitoring: Familiarity with monitoring tools like PagerDuty.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Designing and implementing scalable and high-performance data processing solutions using GCP and BigQuery.

• Automating data loading and transformation workflows (ELT/ETL).

• Collaborating with analytics teams to ensure data quality and accessibility.

• Optimizing and maintaining the existing data infrastructure.

Project Details:

• Rate: Competitive hourly rate (max. approx. 200 PLN/h B2B, target for a 'regular senior' is ~170 PLN/h).

• Duration: Starts with a 3-month trial period with the strong potential for a long-term partnership.

• Timezone: Standard working hours aligned with the EST timezone.

Hiring Process (2 Stages):

1. Initial Interview (High-Level): Focus on expertise, soft skills, tools, and project experience.

2. Technical Challenge: Practical assessment including SQL and Python questions.

A mandatory background check is required upon accepting the offer.
