Your mission

As a Node.js Engineer at Cleeng, you will take full ownership of the solutions you deliver-from design and infrastructure through coding, deployment, and ongoing maintenance. You will work cross-functionally, collaborating closely with business stakeholders to ensure our product remains stable, scalable, and aligned with strategic goals. You will be expected to leverage AI-powered tools and methodologies throughout your workflow, identifying and implementing opportunities where AI can drive efficiency, automation, and business value.

Your Responsibilities

• End-to-End Ownership: Take responsibility for the entire lifecycle of features and services-design, build, deploy, monitor, and maintain Node.js-based systems in production environments.

• AI-Driven Development: Integrate and utilize AI-powered tools and best practices across the software development lifecycle to accelerate delivery, improve code quality, and maximize business impact.

• Business Value Focus: Engage proactively with product managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand business drivers, customer needs, and product goals. Translate these into scalable, maintainable, and secure technical solutions.

• Product Stability & Alignment: Ensure the stability, availability, and performance of our core platform, balancing rapid delivery with long-term product health and alignment with business objectives.

• Collaboration: Work in cross-functional teams, contributing to product discovery, technical planning, and continuous improvement. Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to identify and implement AI-driven solutions.

• Continuous Learning: Stay current with emerging AI technologies and best practices, fostering a culture of innovation and AI fluency within the team.

• Ethical AI Use: Uphold Cleeng’s commitment to ethical and responsible AI use, including bias reduction and data privacy.

The ideal candidate will have the following Competencies

• Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining Node.js applications in production, with a strong understanding of modern backend architectures.

• Demonstrated ability to take full responsibility for the lifecycle of what you build, including infrastructure, deployment, and monitoring.

• Experience working in product-centric environments, with a focus on delivering business outcomes rather than just completing technical tasks.

• Familiarity with AI-powered development tools (e.g., code generation, automated testing, monitoring, analytics) and a passion for leveraging AI to solve business challenges.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and vice versa.

• Experience with cloud platforms, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code is a plus.
