Mid Data Analyst in Banking

Position Description:

We are looking for a Mid-Level Data Analyst to support the development of a banking Data Warehouse environment and deliver high-quality reporting and data visualizations in Power BI.

This role combines advanced data analysis, SQL-based transformation logic design, close cooperation with IT teams on ETL processes, and independent development of business-facing dashboards and reports. You will work in a collaborative, Agile environment supporting data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Gathering and refining business requirements related to data and reporting needs

• Analyzing data availability within the Data Warehouse and performing gap analysis

• Identifying missing data sources in cooperation with Data Stewards and system owners

• Defining business logic, KPIs, and data definitions with stakeholders

• Developing advanced SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and aggregation

• Preparing detailed analytical documentation and transformation logic for ETL implementation

• Validating ETL implementation against defined business rules and SQL logic

• Performing data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks

• Designing and developing Power BI reports and dashboards for business users

• Building and maintaining data models in Power BI (relationships, calculated columns, measures)

• Creating KPIs and calculations using DAX

• Ensuring clarity, usability, and performance optimization of reports

• Translating analytical findings into clear visual insights and actionable recommendations

• Monitoring and improving data quality and consistency

• Supporting integration with Master Data / MDM

• Ensuring alignment with Data Governance standards and best practices

• Working in an Agile environment (Scrum / Kanban)

• Collaborating closely with business stakeholders, IT, Data Engineers, and governance teams

• Supporting junior team members when needed

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Strong knowledge of SQL (complex joins, aggregations, subqueries, window functions)

• Practical experience with Power BI, including report and dashboard development, data modeling, and DAX measures

• Experience working in Data Warehouse environments and understanding of ETL concepts

• Ability to perform gap analysis and translate business needs into technical data solutions

• Experience working with stakeholders and independently driving analytical tasks

• Good understanding of banking products and processes

• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

• Very good communication skills and ability to clearly explain data insights

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of Data Governance / MDM concepts

• Experience with regulatory reporting, risk, or finance data

• Basic knowledge of Python (pandas) for advanced analysis

• Experience mentoring junior analysts
