As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for building and optimizing Jira workflows that connect code deployment (GitHub) and a ticketing/incident management system (ServiceNow). You’ll be instrumental in designing automation flows that improve software delivery, visibility, and collaboration across teams.
This position is located in Poland only and working hours must be flexible to occasionally meet with North American clients up until 19:00 CET.
Job responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and maintain custom Jira workflows, schemas, and dashboards to support DevOps processes.
• Integrate Jira with GitHub for pull request tracking, commit linkage, and release visibility.
• Integrate Jira with ServiceNow for incident, change, and problem management alignment.
• Automate key DevOps processes such as issue creation, code deployment status updates, approvals, and ticket resolution syncs across tools.
• Collaborate with developers, IT operations, and stakeholders to define requirements and ensure successful delivery.
• Ensure access control, data integrity, and audit compliance in workflow design.
• Develop documentation and train end users on Jira usage and integrated workflows.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Must work in Poland.
• 3+ years of experience in a DevOps, automation, or tooling engineer role.
• Deep hands-on experience configuring and administering Jira (Cloud or Data Center).
• Strong understanding of integrating Jira with GitHub (e.g., via webhooks, GitHub Actions, Atlassian Marketplace apps, or REST APIs).
• Experience integrating Jira with ITSM tools like ServiceNow, including bi-directional syncing of tickets or change requests.
• Proficient in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash, Groovy, or YAML for CI/CD pipelines).
• Familiarity with Atlassian APIs and marketplace apps like ScriptRunner, Automation for Jira, or Jira Webhooks.
• Understanding of SDLC and ITIL/ITSM processes.
• Experience in enterprise environments with regulated workflows or compliance needs.
• Familiarity with CI/CD platforms (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
• Experience using tools like Terraform or Ansible for environment provisioning (bonus).
• Atlassian certifications (e.g., Jira Admin, Jira Project Admin) are a plus.
