Senior Solutions Engineer
About Castle
Castle is building real-time infrastructure to protect SaaS platforms from fraud, abuse, and malicious automation. Our product stops bots, detects account abuse, and helps teams fight sophisticated attacks without slowing down real users.
We’re trusted by companies like Canva, Atlassian, and Rockstar Games, and backed by Y Combinator, Index Ventures, and top-tier angels from Stripe, Datadog, and New Relic.
How we think differently about this role
We don't have account executives and we don't do sales demos with slides. When someone wants to evaluate Castle, you run the whole thing - scoping the integration, setting up the proof of concept, analyzing results, and letting the data make the case.
For existing customers, you're the person they actually want on the call. Not someone walking through a QBR deck, but someone who's already looked at their traffic and shows up with something specific to say. Our best customer relationships have always been built by technical people.
The product does the selling. You make sure people see it.You don't have to negotiate rates or redlines, but you are an important corner stone of our product-led sales motion and as such you have an uncapped commission.
You're someone engineers trust
You have an engineering background. Maybe you wrote code for a few years before moving into a customer-facing role, or maybe you're an engineer who realized you're better at explaining things than building them. Either way, you're comfortable reading API docs, looking at JSON payloads, and understanding how an integration works.
When a customer says "we're not sure Castle is catching everything," you don't just reassure them - you pull up their data, look at the patterns, and come back with something specific.
You prep for calls, capture action items, and follow up on time. But you also know when to go off-script because the customer just said something interesting.
You want to understand how our detection works, what signals we collect, why a score was high or low. You ask the research team questions. You actually understand what you're talking about.
Experience
5+ years in solutions engineering, technical customer success, or something similar where you worked with engineering buyers

Comfortable with APIs, integration architecture, and reading/writing technical docs
You can explain something technical to a non-technical stakeholder without dumbing it down
Nice to have: security, fraud, or bot detection experience
