Client Profile: Web3 Infrastructure Company
A fast-growing blockchain data infrastructure company that has positioned itself as the "Google for Web3." They provide real-time on-chain data indexing and correlation services to hundreds of projects across the crypto industry.

The company operates at the intersection of blockchain technology, big data, and enterprise infrastructure - requiring continuous adaptation to new protocols and emerging Web3 use cases

About the role

We're seeking a senior Engineering Manager to lead technical operations at a fast-growing Web3 infrastructure company. This is a hands-on leadership role with a clear path to VP of Engineering as the team scales.

You'll manage engineering across multiple time zones (Europe, Asia, Americas) while contributing directly to software development. As team size grows, your focus will shift from 75% coding (1-5 engineers) to strategic leadership (10%+ coding with 15+ engineers). Now we're a team of 8 engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead bi-weekly sprints and daily standups across distributed team

  • Plan and execute engineering roadmap aligned with product requirements

  • Hire and manage engineering talent including DevOps and software developers

  • Define testing standards, release procedures, and on-call processes

  • Provide weekly progress reports and participate in architectural planning

  • Manage technical support escalations and incident response

Skills & Experience

What we're looking for:

  • 7+ years software development experience

  • Previous startup experience in distributed/remote environment required

  • Hands-on expertise in DevOps, databases, networking and security

  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages (Go, Rust, Java, C/C++, C# preferred)

  • Experience with data infrastructure: SQL, Postgres, Kafka, Kubernetes, distributed systems

  • Strong written/verbal English communication

  • Self-motivated with ability to thrive in fast-paced, unpredictable startup environment

Ideal background

  • Prior VP Engineering or senior team lead experience at US startup

  • Top-tier engineering education (though exceptional candidates without this welcome)

  • Experience with: Clickhouse, Databricks, Spark, DBT, Redis, Linux, bare metal deployment

What we offer

  • Fully remote work with flexible arrangements

  • 15 days paid vacation plus statutory holidays

  • Work-life balance first culture - no expectation of 12-hour days

  • Opportunity to shape technical direction at growing company

Interview process

  1. Cultural fit interview (30 mins)

  2. Technical experience deep-dive (1 hour)

  3. Live technical challenge (1 hour)

  4. Final leadership interview (30 mins)

  5. DISC assessment + references

Ready to lead engineering at a company building critical Web3 infrastructure? We'd love to hear from you!
