Scrum Master

Canary Systems is a technology firm headquartered in the beautiful Lake Sunapee region of New Hampshire. We specialize in civil engineering-related monitoring and instrumentation applications and operate in several markets including construction, mining, geotechnical, industrial, and public infrastructure. Risk management is a growing market and our unique product and services, our software in particular, has positioned us as a worldwide leader in these fields.

We are looking to immediately fill a Part-Time position for a Scrum Master (20hrs per week).

Summary

The Scrum Master will work closely with the Product Owner to develop and implement Agile methodologies in the software development team. This includes working with the Product Owner to develop Product Goals, Product Backlog, project schedule and overall roadmap for project success.

It also includes leading the daily Scrum meetings and taking the lead in establishing, communicating and leading the Scrum Team by instilling Agile principles.

Duties & Responsibilities 

• Work with the Software Development Manager to develop all Product Goals
• Work with the Software Development Manager to develop the Product Schedule
• Organize daily Scrum meetings and additional technical discussion meetings
• Organize the Scrum Team including enhancing and streamlining the development process
• Track Scrum Team progress and report to the Software Development Manager any delays or roadblocks in the development process
• Provide feedback to management on the health and functioning of the Scrum Team 
• Assist with Documentation and Support in detailing the products and providing support

Expertise Required

• Work experience in software development
• Excellent organizational skills
• Solid communication, project management, and presentation abilities
• Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or relevant field or equivalent experience

Expertise Desired

• Geotechnical or Instrumentation experience a plus
• Geo-referenced information systems and data
• Modern user interface design and implementation
• Scrum Master Certification
• Work experience with project management tools such as JIRA
