As a Frontend Engineer on C.H. Robinson’s Work Management Universal Capability team, you will leverage your passion for technology and experience delivering software to build solutions used by our global user base. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating requirements, estimating tasks, and writing code that meets performance, quality, business, and security objectives.
You will collaborate with other software engineers, engineering product managers, and quality assurance analysts to solve complex problems, improve our software development processes and standards, and keep up with emerging technologies.
Work Management is responsible for delivering the right work to the right employees globally. This team is focused on building new modern features into the Work Management capability and enhancing user interfaces to be used by our business divisions all over the world.
Products are being built in .NET 5 and React, with plans to migrate the Work Management capability to the cloud in 2022.
Responsibilities:
- Develop software and designs solutions to satisfy customer requirements that take into account performance and availability
- Collaborate with product managers and principal software engineers to translate requirements into detailed designs
- Estimate for software development effort including identifying dependent teams and developing code to satisfy complex requirements
- Increase code quality through writing unit, integration, and acceptance tests
- Tune performance and resolve availability issues of product or service and its dependencies
- Collaborate with other software engineers and teams on code reviews, development infrastructure, and process enhancements
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience creating applications and features in JavaScript
- Experience with HTTP and REST architecture
- Experience with React
- Experience with database objects in relational databases
- Proficient with unit, integration, and acceptance testing
- Proficient with version control systems (ex. GIT, GitHub, TFS, etc.)
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Have a growth mindset that is open to giving and receiving feedback
Nice to have:
- Strong skills in Web UI development with JavaScript/TypeScript or similar technologies using modern frameworks (React) and an OO languages
- Experience with cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Experience with C#/.NET
- Experience with data streaming and messaging architecture and frameworks (Kafka, RabbitMQ, ESB)
