This time you have the chance to be part of a project related to the development, consulting and support of IT systems for Frontex. The European Border and Coast Guard Agency supports EU Member States and Schengen-associated countries in the management of the EU's external borders and the fight against cross-border crime.
Our expectations:
At least 5 years of IT professional experience
3 years of experience as a Project Manager
Master’s degree
Professional Certifications: PRINCE2 Practitioner or Project Management Professional (PMP) or PM Agile
Minimum English language skills at the Level C1
Proven experience in managing at least one medium to large-scale ICT project in the role of a Project Manager
Practical experience in applying established project management methodologies, such as PRINCE2, PMP, PM Agile or equivalent.
Knowledge and hands-on experience with Agile project management approaches, such as Scrum or Kanban
Solid understanding of information technologies and their application in meeting business needs and objectives
Up-to-date knowledge of modern technologies and industry trends, especially those relevant to the project scope and specific contracts
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to produce high-quality documentation and presentations for various audiences.
Ability to work effectively in dynamic environments, quickly adapt to change, seek continuous improvement, and take initiative
Strong analytical thinking and the ability to identify, assess, and solve problems within a project context.
Demonstrated leadership skills, including team motivation, decision-making, and guiding teams toward project goals
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, management, and external suppliers, fostering a productive and professional working environment.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in organizing and providing support for programmes and portfolios, including coordination, reporting, and governance activities.
Solid knowledge and/or practical experience in the areas of: Data Privacy, Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA), Business Continuity Planning (BCP), Information Security Risk Assessment (This expertise should be specifically relevant to the context of EU Institutions, including an understanding of the associated challenges, standards, and best practices for performing effective assessments and ensuring compliance)
Proven knowledge and experience in organizing and providing support for portfolios or programmes, including the coordination of activities, reporting, resource alignment, and stakeholder communication
Understanding of the unique challenges, regulatory requirements, and methodologies used in these domains within public sector or EU institutional frameworks
Strong skills in conflict management, including the ability to identify, address, and resolve disputes in a constructive and professional manner, ensuring minimal disruption to team dynamics or project outcomes.
Previous professional experience working in or with the public sector, ideally within international organisations or EU institutions, with familiarity in public administration processes, procurement rules, and institutional frameworks.
Key tasks:
Effectively and efficiently manages the project throughout its entire lifecycle and scope
Establishes and maintains project controls to ensure that milestones are achieved, deliverables are completed on time and within scope, and business objectives are met
Ensures and monitors the quality of project deliverables
Identifies, tracks, monitors, and communicates project-related issues, scope changes, risks, and variances that may arise during the project execution
Acts as a liaison with the Project Board and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency
Assigns and monitors tasks, authorizes work packages, balances team priorities and workload, and motivates project team members
Plans and controls the project deliverables and associated processes
Manages effective communication within the project team and with external stakeholders
Produces project management artifacts such as plans, logs, and schedules, and defines the responsibilities of all parties involved
Prepares and delivers oral and written technical reports and project presentations
Organizes and facilitates project meetings, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up on actions
