The Modern Device Management Specialist – VDI is a role that focuses on the management of end-user devices, mainly Windows 365-based Cloud PCs using Intune.
This specialist is responsible for managing the provisioning, setting up enrollment scenarios, configuring operating systems within the MDM tool, and distributing software and policies to end-user devices. A significant part of the role involves implementing Intune policies and conditional access policies. They will also be tasked with supporting standard Windows PCs, application preparation, packaging and deployment, and supporting the Intune environment. This includes the configuration and maintenance of cloud and on-premise
solution elements, and their integration with other systems. They should possess strong problem-solving, communicational, and organizational skills and be capable of working both individually and as part of a team. Experience with VDIs, modern operating systems, application packaging and deployment, and operating system build/support tools and technologies are required for this role.
The specialist is expected to handle complex issues arising from modern device management activities.
This includes but is not limited to: software versioning, interoperability, hardware certification, or network issues.
This role requires a proactive approach to tasks and a keen eye for detail. The specialist is also expected to deliver
high-quality support in response to varying business requirements.
Your Responsibilities:
• Ensure the correct provisioning, enrollment, and configuration of Windows 365 VDIs.
• Deploy, configure, manage, and maintain the MDM tool – Intune.
• Knowledge of MECM and MECM/Intune co-managed environments.
• Implement configuration changes to existing operating systems according to requirements.
• Schedule distribution of software packages to target groups through Intune.
• Import and manage software using Intune; maintain the company portal.
• Monitor and report software distribution results throughout the distribution lifecycle.
• Perform software distribution remediation and complex troubleshooting.
• Complete all activities according to required timelines.
• Perform Quality Assurance activities to ensure the platform operates successfully.
• Adhere to best practices, processes, procedures, documents, and guidelines.
• Conduct product evaluations as requested by the Service Owner.
• Ensure timely and accurate certification of hardware and software.
• Develop or update technical documentation for new versions/releases, patches, and OS configurations.
• Develop or update knowledge articles related to the managed systems.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal processes.
• Resolve complex issues arising from modern workplace platform management activities.
• Monitor the quality of the platform to ensure high end-user satisfaction.
• Evaluate new configurations, customizations, tools.
• Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
Skills that would be an advantage:
• PowerShell scripting on a small/large scale to implement modern or modified solutions.
• Ability to work in a multinational intercultural team framework.
Nice to have:
• Familiarity with working in a Microsoft 365 + Microsoft Teams environment.
• Azure skills.
