Database Administrator

The company for which the project is being carried out develops IT systems for the pharmaceutical sector, cooperating with and supporting both pharmacy chains and pharmaceutical manufacturers.

Expectations:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position
• Advanced knowledge of Windows Server systems (AD, DNS, DHCP)
• Experience in administering large SQL Server databases (over 2 TB), including backups, replication, optimization, high availability (HA), and AlwaysOn
• Experience with the SQL language
• Participation in implementation projects (modernization, migration)
• Advanced knowledge of virtualization tools (e.g., VMware, Proxmox)
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix)
• Good understanding of networking concepts (routing, firewall, VLAN, VPN, SAN)
• Basic knowledge of public cloud platforms (AWS or Azure)
• Basic knowledge of Linux systems
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
• Good organizational skills and ability to work independently
• Knowledge of Proxmox
• Openness to working onsite (1*/2 weeks) in Leszno

Main tasks:

• Implementation of a new backup strategy and design of an improved server architecture to reduce backup time, based on client requirements
• Management of Windows servers located both in the internal server room and in an external data center
• Collaboration with technical teams from external vendors, including data centers, hardware providers, and software suppliers
• Administration of large SQL Server databases (>2 TB), including SSIS, SSAS, data migration, and replication
• Monitoring of IT infrastructure using Zabbix or other monitoring tools
• Management of computer networks, including LAN/WAN, routing, VPN, and SAN environments
• Support for cloud solution migrations or integrations (AWS or Azure)
• Providing support to other internal departments, such as analytics teams
