This time you have the chance to be part of a project related to the development, consulting and support of IT systems for Frontex. The European Border and Coast Guard Agency supports EU Member States and Schengen-associated countries in the management of the EU's external borders and the fight against cross-border crime.

Our expectations

• Participated in the creation of at least two IT systems as a key architect

• Experience in systems architecting in the relevant domain

• Knowledge of designing enterprise level software systems

• Experience in planning capacity and security of the systems

• Technical knowledge of: databases, application servers, communication middleware, web servers, GIS services, directory services, systems security on Microsoft platforms, business intelligence concepts, systems integration and Integrated Development Environments

• Experience in designing in UML, proficient in Archimate and BPMN notations

• Knowledge of software development methodologies, lifecycles and artefacts like RUP, ISO12207 and agile methodologies

• Proficiency in using systems modelling tools like Sparx Enterprise Architect, Aris Architect or similar

• Practical knowledge of formal EA frameworks e.g. TOGAF

• Experience in using EA management tools, e.g. LeanIX, Alphabet, BizzDesign

• Experience in business process management and optimisation/reengineering using modeling tools, e.g. Signavio, Aris

• At least 2 certifications among:

1. Master level certificate in a relevant software development technology domain or in architecting software solutions (e.g. TOGAF Certified)

2. Certified UML Professional certificate at foundation level or an equivalent certification

• Excellent communication, presentation and problem solving skills

• Ability to document effectively

• Strong leadership skills

• Proficiency in English (certification is an advantage)

• Analyses available systems

• Identify options for potential solutions

• Maintains and tracks architecture in systems lifecycle

• Estimate and size software development works

• Contributes to systems design, testing, quality assurance, change management

• Prepares system documentation and provides presentations

• Lead development teams and development processes

• Selects and evaluates technologies

• Collects and interprets system metrics

• Optimizes system from performance, security and quality points of view
