About the role
We are looking for an experienced Business Intelligence Architect who will play a key role in the design, development, and oversight of BI solutions and data platforms. We seek someone who can combine a strategic approach to data architecture with hands-on expertise in technologies and tools—and who understands how these technologies support business decision-making.
The ideal candidate should also have experience in pre-sales activities, including preparing cost estimates and collaborating with the sales team.
Our expectations
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in the BI/Data/Analytics domain, including 2+ years in a data solutions architect or senior BI developer role
- Experience with at least several of the following technologies:
- Power BI, Tableau, Looker (visualization and semantic layer)
- SQL (advanced), T-SQL, DAX, Python (nice to have)
- ETL/ELT: Azure Data Factory, SSIS, dbt, Apache Airflow, NiFi
- Data warehousing
- Data modeling: Kimball, Data Vault, 3NF
- Experience with cloud data architectures (Azure preferred; AWS, GCP, Snowflake are a plus)
- Hands-on knowledge of topics such as: CI/CD for data, model versioning, pipeline testing, data monitoring
- Familiarity with tools supporting data management: data catalogs, lineage tools, data observability, database monitoring
Nice to have
- Experience with migrations from on-premises to the cloud
- Knowledge of Data Governance and Data Security principles
- Technical certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer, dbt, Snowflake Architect, Power BI)
- Ability to present architecture and justify technology decisions to teams and clients
Main responsibilities
- Designing and developing Business Intelligence system architecture – data warehouses, semantic models, data pipelines, integration processes (ETL/ELT)
- Selecting BI and DWH technologies based on functional, non-functional, and scalability requirements
- Managing a team of specialists
- Creating architectural patterns (data blueprints, data contracts, data governance), defining standards and technical best practices
- Designing and optimizing data models (Kimball, Data Vault, star/snowflake schema) for analysis and reporting purposes
- Collaborating with Data Engineering, DevOps, Analytics, and IT Security teams to ensure architectural consistency and data security
- Conducting architecture and code reviews, providing technical support for BI/ETL development teams
- Overseeing transformation projects: cloud migrations, data architecture modernization, implementation of data platforms
- Providing technology consulting and participating in meetings with internal and external clients – including solution presentations and technical feasibility assessments
- (Optional) Technical mentoring for less experienced team members, support in planning technology development paths
- Subject matter support in the BI project sales process
- Willingness to participate in pre-sales meetings in the role of a data engineer
