We are looking for skilled and motivated individuals to join our team in Poland and be a part of EMEA UNIX team within CIB IT PRODUCTION as Senior Linux System Engineer.
The position consists of the administration of a Linux platform with around 40k servers, in a banking production environment. Incident management as well as planning and implementing changes on a day-to-day basis.
Due to a large number of assets to manage, being able to automate your BAU tasks is a key point. Vulnerability and obsolescence remediation, proactive improvements and being involved in transformation projects are a part of the day-to-day of this position as well.
Linux System Engineer
Responsibilities:
Installing and configuring Red Hat software products and servers.
Designing and implementing solutions using Git and Veritas Cluster & Volume manager.
Managing of SAN and NAS.
Maintaining and adapting the configuration of server software and system components lifecycle management.
Defining requirements as a part of the product lifecycle to influence new designs and standards.
Leveraging Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform whenever and wherever possible (or other automation skills valuable like Puppet for developing and maintaining automation scripts).
Maintaining and monitoring the infrastructure using different tools.
Tickets resolution through incidents, problems and different requests from the clients or other infrastructure teams.
Collaborating with support, operations and engineering teams to investigate and troubleshoot problems.
Providing training to colleagues about subject matters in scope, and advising the project team in areas such as capacity management.
Contingency planning, environment planning, configuration management and other relevant tasks.
Maintaining the documents describing the system and its infrastructure.
Participating in an on-call and shift work model.
Requirements:
5+ years of professional experience in area of Linux administration.
Experience in administration of Red Hat Linux, Ubuntu and Solaris with expertise on high availability environments.
Background in SAN and NAS management.
Knowledge of technologies like Puppet, Ansible, Git, Veritas Cluster & Volume manager, Python and OpenSVC.
Knowledge of DevOps methodologies and some Cloud experience will be valued.
Eager to learn and an analytical mindset.
Experience of delivering strategic priorities within timelines on production environment and support.
Openness to regular travels to Madrid and Paris.
