About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated QA Automation Engineer/Architect to join our global Product & Technology team. This is a full-time, long-term contract position (not a permanent role). The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring software quality and performance through test automation, while increasing our speed to market by improving our testing framework & architecture.
Location
Our offices are in Houston, Texas, USA, and Oslo, Norway. For this role, we are hiring in Europe (remote), preferably Poland.
We provide a remote work model and are not tightly linked to a physical office. Remote employees are expected to have a dedicated, quiet, and distraction-free workspace and an internet connection that’s sufficient for completing their job remotely.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts using Cypress, Playwright, Postman and Pytest in alignment with project requirements and technical specifications
Establish and implement Performance and Stress testing strategies
Collaborate closely with the QA team to identify and prioritize areas for automation and establish a strategic roadmap for automation projects
Participate in code reviews to ensure automated test scripts meet high standards of quality and adhere to best coding practices
Ensure compatibility and consistency of the application across various browsers, devices, and platforms
Work with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate automated testing into the CI/CD pipeline, enhancing deployment efficiency
Maintain comprehensive documentation for automated test scripts, frameworks, and processes, ensuring clarity and scalability
Conduct thorough regression testing to verify software quality during releases, leveraging automation to ensure reliability and stability
Perform root cause analysis for defects and collaborate with the development team to identify solutions and implement fixes
Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and provide insights on testability, quality aspects, and automation opportunities
Continuously optimize automated tests for improved performance, scalability, and maintainability
Stay current with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and testing tools to enhance the overall QA process and automation efficiency
Develop a deep understanding of the application(s) to become a subject matter expert and effectively guide testing strategies
Mentor and provide guidance to junior QA team members, fostering skill development and promoting best practices
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Expert-level proficiency in Python and JavaScript is essential. You must be highly competent in writing efficient, scalable, and maintainable test automation code in Python. You’ll be expected to lead Python-based automation initiatives, establish best practices, and mentor team members in developing high-quality code.
5+ years of experience in front-end automation testing, with deep hands-on expertise in frameworks such as Cypress and Playwright. You should have experience designing and evolving automation strategies that scale across browser and desktop platforms.
Strong experience in backend API automation testing is required. You should be capable of designing and maintaining API test suites that validate system integrations, data flows, and backend logic.
Strong working knowledge of browser and desktop based applications, and experience using developer tools for advanced debugging and validation
Proficiency with version control systems such as GitHub, supporting collaborative workflows and high-quality code management in distributed teams
Proven ability to design and maintain CI/CD pipelines, with integrated automated testing that supports fast, reliable, and repeatable software releases
Deep understanding of QA methodologies, testing standards, and industry best practices, with a focus on building resilient, efficient, and maintainable automation solutions
Advanced analytical and debugging skills, with the ability to identify systemic issues, performance bottlenecks, and opportunities for quality improvements
High attention to detail in building and maintaining comprehensive automated test suites, ensuring extensive coverage and long-term reliability
Experience mentoring and coaching junior team members, especially in development, test design, and automation strategy - promoting a strong culture of technical growth and collaboration
A demonstrated commitment to continuous learning, staying current with new tools, libraries, testing strategies, and industry trends to continually enhance automation capabilities
