IT Infrastructure Specialist

Blue Water Shipping is engaged in an ambitious digital transformation journey, continuing our customer centricity, and transitioning to a product-driven enterprise with optimized IT. To help us continue this journey and ensure stable and scalable operations of our IT Infrastructure, we are now expanding our Core Services Team with additional IT Infrastructure Specialists.

You will enable stable, scalable, and secure infrastructure solutions

As an IT Infrastructure Specialist at Blue Water Shipping, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the technology infrastructure that supports Blue Water Shipping business operations. This includes hardware, software, networking, and cloud services. You will work closely with IT- and business teams to understand their needs and develop solutions that meet those needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Design, implement, and manage the organisation’s IT infrastructure, including on-premises data centers and cloud-hosted solutions
• Oversee and manage servers, networks, and storage systems to ensure optimal performance and availability
• Install new IT systems, ensuring they are successfully integrated into existing IT infrastructure
• Ensure security best practices are followed to protect data and systems from internal and external threats
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner
• Participate in cross-team workgroups to assist in deploying, maintaining and troubleshooting complex systems when needed
• Stay current with the latest industry trends and technologies
• Acting as 2nd and 3rd level escalation point for IT Service Desk

What you are bringing to the team

As a person, you are driven by technology and have a strong ambition to excel. You are self-motivated and curious and have the ability to engage in technical discussions across different levels of IT expertise. You have a good understanding of business needs and - problems and have a desire to work with solution design and architecture that adhere to industry standards.

Additionally, you should have:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience working with enterprise infrastructure
• A strong technical knowledge within Microsoft infrastructure platforms, preferably with Azure cloud experience
• Experience with design and implementation of technology infrastructure solutions
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• The team currently consists of 5 IT Infrastructure Specialists, working closely together to provide stable and secure operations for Blue Water Shipping.
• The team manages a broad spectrum of technology solutions, from on-prem solutions such as VMware, Windows servers, Citrix and SAN storage, to Microsoft Intune / Autopilot and Azure infrastructure.
• The positions is located in Gdansk, Poland and will report to the IT Operations Manager in Denmark.
• Fluency in English is required, and occasional travel days to Denmark are to be expected.
• We support flexible and hybrid work arrangements, while also emphasizing the importance of team social interactions.
• Team members are expected to work from the office in Gdansk 3 - 4 days each week.
