Job description

At Blue Water Shipping, IT is more than technology. It is how we enable the business to operate efficiently, manage costs, and keep things running smoothly.

As our IT organization grows in size and in complexity, we need stronger support around invoices, vendors, and everyday administrative tasks. Not glamorous work, but absolutely essential work.

That is why we are looking for an IT Controller to support Global IT with invoice handling, basic cost control, and ad-hoc administrative tasks.
This role is well suited for someone early in their career who wants to build experience at the intersection of IT, finance, and operations.

About the role

As an IT Controller, you will support the IT organization with day-to-day financial and administrative tasks. You will work closely with more senior colleagues in IT and Finance and gradually take responsibility for recurring tasks such as invoice validation, vendor follow-up, and maintaining overviews.

This role is for someone who is structured, curious, and comfortable working with details, and who wants to learn how IT cost management works in a large, international organization.

Your responsibilities

Invoice handling and basic cost control

  • Review and process IT-related invoices

  • Check invoices against contracts, orders, and agreements

  • Flag discrepancies and support follow-up with vendors or internal stakeholders

  • Help ensure costs are booked to the correct cost centers

Vendor and contract support

  • Assist with maintaining an overview of IT vendors and contracts

  • Support tracking of licenses, subscriptions, and renewals

  • Help keep documentation structured and up to date

Administrative and reporting support

  • Support basic reporting on IT costs and vendors

  • Assist with data collection for budgeting and forecasting

  • Handle ad-hoc administrative tasks within Global IT

  • Support audits and documentation tasks when needed

Learning and improvement

  • Learn IT financial and administrative processes

  • Contribute ideas for improving structure, clarity, and ways of working

  • Gradually take on more responsibility as experience grows

What success looks like

  • Invoices are processed correctly and on time

  • Vendors and contracts are documented and easy to find

  • IT colleagues experience fewer delays and questions around invoices

  • You develop a solid understanding of IT costs and processes

  • You become a trusted support function within Global IT

Your background

  • Education or early experience in finance, accounting, administration, or similar

  • Comfortable working with numbers, spreadsheets, and basic systems

  • Structured and detail-oriented, without being afraid to ask questions

  • Reliable, curious, and willing to learn

  • Experience with IT or procurement is an advantage, but not a requirement

What we offer:

  • A collaborative, professional engineering culture with a strong focus on quality and continuous improvement

  • Private medical care (Medicover),

  • Flexible hybrid model of working: 3 days in the office and 2 days at home,

  • Multisport card (FitProfit),

  • Training and conference budget,

  • Christmas gifts.

  • Friendly work atmosphere driven by strong family values (family-owned business),

  • Social events and team-building meetings both locally and globally.

Why join us?

  • Gain hands-on experience in IT financial and administrative work

  • Learn how a global IT organization operates behind the scenes

  • Work closely with experienced colleagues in IT and Finance

  • Build a strong foundation for a future role in controlling, finance, or IT operations

  • Join a global company where your contribution actually matters
