Senior PHP Developer

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior PHP Developer to join our cross-functional engineering team and contribute to building scalable, secure, and high-performance web applications. You will work on projects using PHP 8+, Symfony, and microservices architecture, collaborating closely with DevOps, QA, and Product Owners.

Your Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain web applications using PHP 8+, Symfony, and Laravel.

• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, following OOP, SOLID, TDD, DDD, and Clean Code principles.

• Lead and participate in refactoring and replatforming initiatives for legacy applications, ensuring long-term maintainability and performance.

• Collaborate with architects, product managers, DevOps, and QA engineers to deliver features from concept to deployment.

• Build and integrate REST APIs with security, scalability, and performance in mind.

• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues across the stack.

• Write and maintain unit, functional, and integration tests (PHPUnit, Codeception).

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving our engineering standards.

• Maintain and update technical documentation.

Requirements

Must Have

• 5+ years of commercial experience in PHP web development.

• Strong experience with PHP 8+, at least one of the popular MVC frameworks (Symfony/Laravel/Yii), DDD, Microservices Architecture, and REST API.

• Solid knowledge of OOP, SOLID, and Clean Code principles.

• Proven experience in refactoring and replatforming large-scale legacy systems.

• Hands-on experience with MySQL/MariaDB databases.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI preferred).

• Experience with Docker and Git.

• Strong understanding of software architecture and system design.

• Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team.

• Proactivity and a strong focus on continuous improvement.

• Languages: Fluent in English (B2) and Polish (B2).

Nice to Have

• Experience with Go and front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript).

• Experience with Agile/Scrum and eXtreme Programming.

• Experience with queue systems

• Knowledge of the German language.
