    We are searching for a Cobol software engineer


    Team Customer Solutions is looking for a new talented Software Engineer with Cobol skills to be a part of our team that delivers excellent solutions in the Core Banking Customer Domain. 

    This position based at our friendly office in Warsaw, but the team works from both Warsaw and Roskilde. Customer Solutions consists of 10 ambitious team members with different competencies within business knowledge, IT development, Test and IT architecture. At BEC, we prefer to collaborate often in the office, but we also keep the opportunity to work remotely up to eight days per month. Your direct manager will be Marlene G. Larsen.

    The Customer Cluster consists of two dedicated teams: Customer Core and Customer Solutions.

    Customer Solutions, which you will be part of, is responsible for delivering the high prioritized initiatives and is currently on a dedicated journey securing GDPR and Compliance robustness in our data and architecture. Together with our sister team, Customer Core we are on an important mission to ensure the best circumstances for our Banks, as Customer data/systems are fundamental.


    Primary task and responsibilities include:


    In the position as Software Engineer, you will work closely with fellow Software Engineers, the Product Owner, Business Analysts, Team Architect and Scrum Master. Your primary tasks and responsibilities will include:  

    • Write well designed, testable, efficient code to support varied and complex IT solutions, that fulfil the requirements of our customer.   
    • Be able to design the architecture of a solution and drive the development. 
    • Engaging directly with customers to develop a better understanding of their needs. 
    • Knowledge with Agile methodologies, such as Scrum to ensure an iterative and adaptive approach to development. 
    • Collaborating with the Product Owner and other teams across the organization to ensure the best possible solutions for incoming business requirements.


    To succeed you will have: 


    • At least five years of experience in mainframe development and various languages such as Cobol, CICS, DB2, JCL, SQL from the financial sector, telecom, pharma, or similar
    • Ability to communicate with colleagues and stakeholders outside the team to develop the best solutions
    • To be self-driven, proactive and don’t be shy to express your opinion
    • To be adaptive towards change, curious to learn and understand the business objectives
    • Analytical skills and ability to develop innovative solutions
    • To master English at a high level both in writing and orally working in teams in Denmark and Poland
    • Have an agile mindset and have experience with translating feature descriptions into user stories.
    • To be a team player with focus on working together as a team


    It’s nice-to-have:

    • Knowledge about financial sector
    • Experience with Git/BitBucket, JIRA, API, Java, Jenkins
    • Experience in mainframe development and various languages such as IDz/TSO, PL/1
