Azure Administrator - Data modernization program

This position is based at our friendly office in Warsaw, Poland and you will join our Data Modernization Program. The team is in charge of establishing and running analytical data platform based on Azure Databricks. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is eager to support and optimize our Azure-based infrastructure while contributing to data platform initiatives involving Databricks.

At BEC, we prefer to collaborate often in the office, but we also keep the opportunity to work remotely up to eight days per month. Your direct manager will be Michał Zientak.

Primary task and responsibilities include:

• Manage and maintain Azure resources

• Monitor and optimize Azure environments for performance, cost, and security

• Support user access, permissions, and workspace configurations in Azure Databricks

• Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure smooth operation of Databricks clusters and jobs

• Operate backup restore and disaster recovery strategy

• Automate routine tasks using PowerShell, Azure CLI, Terraform

• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to Azure and Databricks services

• Document procedures, configurations and best practices

To succeed you will have: 

• Hands-on experience with Azure core services

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Bicep

• Basic understanding of Databricks architecture and administration (e.g., cluster setup, user roles, workspace management)

• Familiarity with scripting and automation tools (PowerShell, Azure CLI)

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Analytical mind, can see the big picture without overlooking important details

• Proficiency in English (both written and spoken)

It’s nice-to-have:

• Experience from scrum/agile organization (Jira/Confluence)

• Exposure to data engineering or analytics workflows in Databricks

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices in Azure
