About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior COBOL / Mainframe Developer to join an international technology team supporting digital solutions within a global custodian banking environment.

In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional technology teams and business stakeholders across the full software development lifecycle — from analysis and development to testing, implementation, and ongoing improvements. You will contribute to the evolution and stability of business-critical applications supporting the bank’s digital channels and operational processes.

This is a fully remote opportunity open to candidates located within the European Union.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications

• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including analysis, development, testing, deployment, and support

• Collaborate with developers, analysts, and business users to deliver reliable and scalable solutions

• Troubleshoot and resolve production and application issues

• Ensure high quality and stability of delivered solutions

• Contribute to modernization and continuous improvement initiatives within the application landscape

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with:

  • COBOL

  • DB2

  • IMS

  • JCL

  • OPC / scheduling tools

• Experience working in enterprise-scale environments

• Good understanding of software development lifecycle and production support processes

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Good communication and collaboration skills

• Fluency in English
