C++ Developer (mid level)

Join our client's team responsible for the development and maintenance of a leading card payment authorization and switching software suite. Our work also includes components for card management back office solutions and fraud detection.

We are seeking a Mid Application Developer skilled in modern C++ 17 to contribute to our integrated processing and software licensing solutions. This is a fully remote position.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain high-performance C++ modules for real-time transaction authorization

• Develop low-latency trading/transaction processing paths with robust error handling

• Integrate with other systems and data stores (Oracle database)

• Implement security controls (encryption, authorization) and ensure compliance with PCI-DSS, PSD2, and other relevant standards

• Build and maintain unit, integration, and performance tests; participate in code reviews

• Optimize CPU/memory usage, latency, and throughput; profile and tune critical paths

• Collaborate with business analysts to translate risk rules and business logic into efficient C++ implementations

• Maintain documentation, version control practices, and CI/CD pipelines

• Troubleshoot production incidents and provide timely responses

Requirements:

• Strong proficiency in modern C++ (C++11/14/17/20)

• Experience with real-time or near-real-time financial systems; low-latency programming and high-throughput design

• Understanding of financial instruments, settlement, risk, and transaction workflows; knowledge of authorization/risk checks

• Experience with secure coding practices, cryptography basics, and secure storage

• Knowledge of databases and data structures

• Testing and quality discipline: unit tests, integration tests, performance testing; continuous integration

• Proactive, collaborative, with strong problem-solving and communication skills

• Knowledge of the German language is a plus
