Senior Software Engineer

As we embark on this exciting journey, we are seeking an Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will drive a holistic consumer and customer experience by co-leading our transformation towards a platform and guiding the implementation of MACH (Microservices, API-first, Cloud-native, and Headless) architecture principles. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will design, develop, and deploy scalable digital solutions that meet our business needs.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Development and Implementation: Design and implement microservices and APIs that adhere to MACH architecture principles, leveraging your programming expertise to create robust solutions.
• Transformation Initiatives: Foster and support the transition to a MACH architecture, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical requirements through effective collaboration.
• Integration Knowledge: Experience with decentralized, microservices-based integration approaches and various integration patterns.
• Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to define and prioritize features, providing technical guidance throughout the development process.
• Code Quality and Best Practices: Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and promote best practices in software development within the team.
• Performance Monitoring: Establish metrics to monitor the performance and reliability of the platform, making recommendations for improvements based on analysis.
• Training and Mentorship: Provide mentorship to team members on MACH principles and programming techniques to foster a culture of continuous learning.
• Stay Updated: Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to MACH architecture and cloud solutions.

Qualifications & Competencies (education, skills, experience):

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in IT engineering, software development, or a similar role with a strong focus on MACH architecture and building and maintaining scalable, distributed systems and microservices
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript and very experienced in at least one headless UI (e.g. ReactJS or AngularJS) and one microservice backend (e.g. nodeJS) technology.
• Experience with a Design System (e.g. Material Design) and the concept of atomic design.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their deployment practices.
• Hands-on Experience with headless CMS, headless & composable digital commerce, and other MACH-compatible technologies.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) to facilitate seamless deployment and integration.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
• Nice to have: Experience with infrastructure provisioning like Terraform scripts
• Nice to have: Experience with AI/ML technologies and their integration into platform services
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with agile methodologies
• Relevant certifications in cloud technologies or software architecture.
