Senior DevOps Engineer

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer!

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be a part of Bayer's Customer Engagement Team. You will work on improving our 'System and Data Integration Capabilities', especially by taking the responsibility of Backstage Configurations & Operations.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Develop scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure on the AWS cloud platform.
2. Develop infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, containerization, and orchestration using tools such as Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker.
3. Setup, maintain and operate a cross-team collaboration platform using Backstage.
4. Design and develop CI/CD pipelines using Github Actions to enable seamless deployment of applications and services
5. Lead the implementation of automated testing and continuous integration processes to ensure code quality and reliability
6. Lead the setup and configuration of monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure the health and performance of applications and infrastructure
7. Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to understand their needs and provide DevOps support
8. Provide and integrate solutions for security scanning and vulnerability assessment into the developer tool portfolio and CI/CD pipelines
9. Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of infrastructure and application incidents to ensure stable operations and business continuity.

WHO YOU ARE:

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field
2. 5+ years experience as a DevOps engineer
3. Excellent proficiency with the AWS cloud platform with focus on infrastructure as code using Hashicorp Terraform.
4. Good experience with Composable Architecture principals, especially on an API first strategy.
5. Excellent proficiency with the AWS cloud platform with focus on infrastructure as code using Hashicorp Terraform and version control via Git.
6. Proven experience configuring and maintaining internal developer platforms or service catalogs, with a focus on improving developer experience, service discoverability and platform consistency
7. Skilled in implementing and customizing tools and portals that streamline service ownership, documentation and development standards across engineering teams
8. Excellent knowledge in automation with CI/CD pipelines using Github Actions.
9. Excellent knowledge in Kubernetes / Docker development and operations with focus on AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service and AWS Elastic Container Service.
10. Good knowledge in security concept with focus on operations of Hashicorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager and using OpenID Connect using Microsoft Entra ID for authentication and authorization.
11. Good knowledge in developing streaming data integration using technologies like Kafka and AWS Kinesis
12. Good knowledge in orchestrating AWS cloud services using AWS Step Functions, AWS Simple Queue Service and Apache Airflow
13. Good experience cloud monitoring solutions like AWS CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus or OpenTelemetry
