We are building a new data platform on Microsoft Fabric and are looking for a Platform Engineer to help shape, build, and operate it from the ground up. As part of a newly formed team, you will take ownership of the platform from day one. Designing, provisioning, and evolving the Data Platform in close collaboration with key customers.
Your responsibilities will include:
Operate and continuously improve the Microsoft Fabric-based data platform, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.
Provision and manage the platform using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), following standardized, scalable practices.
Collaborate with key customers to co-develop platform concepts, processes, and best practices.
Foster a collaborative and learning-oriented culture as part of a newly formed team, and working closely with cloud architects, cloud engineers, and the security team.
Implementing the requirements for the new data platform under the guidance of the Product Owner (PO).
Monitor and optimize platform performance to maintain high service levels.
Your professional qualifications:
Professional Experience: You bring 5-8 years of experience in Data or Platform Engineering, with a strong focus on cloud-native solutions and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
Platform Engineering Expertise: You are proficient in Terraform, Azure DevOps, and Azure CLI with a proven track record of automating infrastructure and implementing CI/CD pipelines in cloud environments, ideally following GitOps principles for managing infrastructure and deployments.
Architecture & Development: You have experience - or a strong interest - in designing and building Data Mesh or Data Fabric architectures in modern, distributed environments.
Azure & Programming Skills: Exposure to Azure services such as Data Factory, Synapse, and Azure SQL Database is an advantage. Familiarity with Power BI, Microsoft Fabric and Microsoft Purview is a plus.
Language Skills: Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is essential. German skills are an advantage.
