Senior Java Developer

Project Description

We are looking for a Senior/Expert Java Developer to support the migration of a mid-scale Java application from an outdated technology stack (Oracle JDK 7 and WebLogic 10) to a modern, cloud-based environment.

You will work closely with international teams across Europe and Asia, collaborating with developers, testers, and business stakeholders. The project focuses on modernizing the application, ensuring compatibility with the latest Java versions, improving system performance, and preparing it for cloud deployment.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of Java, with deep understanding of differences between Oracle JDK 7, OpenJDK 8, and OpenJDK 17.
• Proven experience in migrating mid-size Java projects to updated technology stacks.
• Solid experience with Oracle WebLogic configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with application testing methodologies and tools (unit, integration, performance).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in English (spoken and written).

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Migrate existing Java applications from Oracle JDK 7 and WebLogic 10 to a modern cloud-based setup.
• Refactor and optimize existing codebase for compatibility with newer Java versions (OpenJDK 8 and 17).
• Configure, deploy, and troubleshoot applications running on Oracle WebLogic.
• Collaborate with international teams to ensure smooth migration and integration processes.
• Perform and support unit, integration, and performance testing activities.
• Actively communicate with stakeholders and contribute to technical discussions and planning.
