Data Engineer (F/M)
Position
We are currently looking for a candidate for the position of Data Engineer (he/she) for our client from the pharmaceutical industry.
Additional Information
Project focuses on migrating an existing data warehouse to a new analytics platform.
The goal is to transfer historical and ongoing data processing to a modern data ecosystem while preserving data meaning, quality, and reporting consistency. The system supports analytical and reporting processes used across the organization.
Your role will be to understand the current data model, design and implement migration pipelines, and ensure data integrity after the transition.
You’re ideal for this role if you:
have hands-on experience with data migration or platform transition projects
are proficient in Python and SQL for data processing and transformations
have experience with distributed processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark)
understand relational and document data models (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
worked with cloud environments (AWS or equivalent)
can analyze legacy systems to understand data origin and semantics
know how to validate and reconcile datasets after migration
understand ETL/ELT and data modeling concepts
communicate effectively in English and cooperate with stakeholders
Nice to have:
experience in regulated environments (e.g., healthcare, pharma)
familiarity with data governance, GDPR or HIPAA
knowledge of Java to understand legacy backend logic
experience with orchestration or workflow tools
experience with large-scale datasets and performance tuning
Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
analyzing the existing data warehouse and mapping data structures
designing and implementing migration pipelines (Spark/Python)
transforming and loading data into the target analytics platform
validating data correctness and ensuring reporting consistency
troubleshooting migration issues and optimizing performance
collaborating with developers and analysts to interpret data behavior
documenting migration logic and data lineage
